Hala V. Furst to present at Summit and Small/Mid-Size Business Event

The 2017 Cyber Security Summit is excited to announce that Hala V. Furst, Cybersecurity and Technology Business Liaison for the Department of Homeland Security’s Private Sector Office, will present during both the main Cyber Security Summit and a half-day event, Cyber Security for Small and Mid-Size Businesses, on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Her presentation will focus on language and resources to help company leadership understand that cyber security is a business risk - and just as importantly, what can be done. During the Small and Mid-Size Business session, she will tailor her remarks specifically to smaller companies that typically do not have a CISO or cyber security staff.

In her role at the Department of Homeland Security, Ms. Furst develops strategic relationships between Department Headquarters, Department components, the policy community in DC, and technology communities across the country, focusing on cybersecurity and technology interests.  Prior to this she led the Stakeholder Outreach effort for the second Quadrennial Homeland Security Review (QHSR). In 2012 Ms. Furst was detailed to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, working for the Majority Staff under then Chairman Joe Lieberman on cybersecurity legislation, after joining the Department as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF) in 2010.

We are continually adding to and updating the agenda - view the 2017 Agenda here. Additional speakers will be announced in the coming weeks!
